Question: I see you sell many Rolex Tudor watches, what is Tudor's relationship to Rolex?

Answer: Tudors are watches made by Rolex. The major difference between a Tudor and a Rolex is that Rolex contracted the manufacturing of the movement only out to a 3rd party manufacturer like AS or ETA. The 3rd party movement was made to Rolex's specifications and signed Tudor. This movement was manufactured by the 3rd party and sent to Rolex where it was assembled into a watch with all Rolex remaining parts (Rolex case, bezel, band, crystal and crown). These parts are the same parts used in the Rolex line of watches. The Tudor movements are normally high grade 17, 21 or 25 jewel movements which when correctly cleaned and oiled will keep time nearly as well as any full blown Rolex.

Rolex produces most of their popular watches in both a Rolex and a Tudor branded model. The President, Datejust, Submariner, Oyster, Oysterdate, and more all come in both brands. Below is an example of the Rolex Datejust and the Tudor Prince Oysterdate.

Retail value $5300

Retail value $2000

Essentially they are the same watch, with the differences being the quality of the movement and the logo and writing on the dial.
